Man, I can’t believe it’s been over a month since I last blogged! So much has happened since then, where do I start? Last thing, I had just gotten back from San Diego at the beginning of October. Had a two week hiatus and then Mike and I went to Reno for a night as part of our first anniversary. It was a lot of fun! Mike spent several hours at the poker table, getting better at playing Texas Hold ‘em. We saw a show called Wonderland, very bizarre and interesting at the same time.

On the 28th, Mike’s dad turned 50! Mike’s stepmom, Carol threw a great party for him that following weekend. Had a few family members in town at our house in Sacramento prior to the party. It was great seeing everyone! Went wine tasting that weekend in Napa at V. Sattui winery as well. Quite eventful . . .

The next weekend was quite busy as well. Went to the Grand National Rodeo in SF at the Cow Palace. If you remember, that’s where we met 4 years ago. It was fun to see our old friends and fellow newlyweds, the Martins. We also saw Reba McEntire in concert that night. She put on a great show!! The following day our very good friends, the Conti’s, came to town from Orange County. Had a good dinner at the Cheesecake Factory where Alex and I sampled a few different beverages. (he he he) Then on that Sunday, John and Mike went to see the 49′ers lose to Seattle while Alex and I played tourists at Alcatraz. We had so much fun!!

Now, the latest on our adventurous house project. Due to some issues with our architect who swore he could have our plans ready in 3 weeks and now they are done 12 weeks later, we are not where we had planned with our timeline. Mike took the plans to the city of Rocklin and it turns out we need a couple more reports (i.e. grading.) We hope to get everything together and fully submitted within the next week. Mike has learned quite a bit about building a house and is enjoying every frustrating minute of it. I’ll be excited when I can pick out the furniture to fill it up =0)

I’ll try not to go so long between blogs next time. We go to Tennessee next week for the Thanksgiving holiday. We leave on Wednesday the 24th and return on Monday the 29th. I’m looking forward to having more time for sightseeing. I’ll post the pictures when I return.
