New House
Wow, it’s been 6 months since I last popped here and documented anything. Been quite busy with things. Where does one start? Not much happened in February. In March, we lost two very dear people. Mike’s grandmother lost her battle to cancer after a very hard and tiring fight for the third time. Secondly my cousin’s grandmother, who was just like a grandmother to me, passed away about two weeks later from old age. God bless them both! We are forever grateful to have had them touch our lives so much!
On a lighter note, we finally sold our house in North Natomas. We closed in April and rented back from the sellers for two weeks. We then moved next door to our former neighbors and good friends’ rental. Rented for about two months. Wasn’t that a joy. Living out of boxes for those two months was an adventure. It just wasn’t worth unpacking for such a short time. I really missed having a fully stocked kitchen though! We bought another house closer to my work, up in Antelope. (no it’s not the country but very suburbia) Got the keys on June 6th, and spent the next two weeks painting from top to bottom. One more week was for the tile to go in and a day for the new carpet. We completely renovated the house (with no major overhaul,) and moved in June 30th.
Mike Sr. and Carol came up twice to help out with the yard, renovating, etc. My parents and little brother flew in for the July 4th weekend and man, did we put them to work!! We now have new fixtures, ceiling fans, outlets/switches, etc. from their hard work. Thanks to all that helped! Couldn’t have done it without you!
We’re now slowly finishing up, putting in new baseboards, door trim, doors, etc. When the heat subsides, hopefully we’ll tackle the backyard. Oh yeah, we have a Jacuzzi!! Took photos of the progression and will get those up once I have more time. Now that we have high-speed internet and more time again, I’ll be able to stay more on track! Oh yeah, we just love our new house! You’ll have to come and visit.
Mike is busy studying to get his contractor’s license and hopefully start his own business soon. He went fishing at the Delta for the first time since May! Oh yeah, did I mention he won another boat??? Once again May on Clearlake proved to be his best territory! It’s even more nice that the time on the water all these years is really starting to pay off for him/us!
I’ve been studying Claims Law and will start a course in Financial Analysis as soon as my textbooks arrive. Hope to break into the Financial Analysis world soon as that is what I studied in school!
Best get back to the books . . . don’t be a stranger!
