Summer is officially upon us! It’s been reaching the 90’s here in Sacramento, so I’m a little bummed to lose that nice cool weather. We’ve been working on the backyard, slowly weeding and organizing. Our tomato plants and corn are producing nicely! We planted some lettuce and herbs this weekend. Mike started clearly a patch for the pumpkins, watermelons, cucumbers, etc. We still haven’t heard about the loan modification and whether it has been approved or not. We hope to hear something soon so we know whether we’re staying or moving. Say prayers for us!
Last weekend Nonna and Papa came to town to attend the Horse Expo at the Cal Expo. We joined them every night for dinner, wine and Pinochle. Reagan sure enjoyed their visit as well (see new pictures.) Next weekend (26th) we’re joining Nonna and Papa at Loon Lake, in the El Dorado National Park for horse riding and camping. We’re pretty excited about it! We’ll leave Thursday evening and return on Sunday. So this Father’s Day weekend we’re getting organized and ready for the trip!

Reagan and Mary just got back from Tennessee where we visited Mike’s family. Mike had stay behind to fish the FLW Stren event at the Cal Delta, so Reagan and Mary went without him. We arrived on Saturday afternoon where Derrick and Cody picked us up at the airport and we drove to the lake house down on Tim’s Ford Lake near Winchester, Tn. At the lake house, the rest of the Sherrill clan was there to celebrate the Memorial weekend. Reagan had a blast with all of the family and her cousins, Kyla (2) Jackson and Brenden (both 8.) Reagan shared a bath with Kyla as well! Kyla wasn’t too amused and Reagan didn’t seem to notice she wasn’t alone.
We went to Nashville Monday afternoon where Reagan played a lot with Nana and Parker/Partner. They got down on the floor and played for quite a while, much to Reagan’s delight. On Tuesday Nana, Mary and Reagan drove 3.5 hours to Memphis to see Reagan’s great-grandparents. First we went to Mam-ma and Pap-pa’s house for lunch. These are Nana Susan’s parents. Unfortunately when we got there, Reagan had a fever and was pretty unhappy/clingy. I gave her some Motrin and in about a half an hour she perked right up and was playing. She met Great-Uncle Robert and Great-Aunt Janet as well. Once I get the pictures from Nana Susan, I’ll upload those with mine.
After visiting with them, we went to Great-Nana Tuck’s house. Once again Reagan’s fever came back and she needed more Motrin. It was over 101 degrees so I called the doctor’s office. The advice nurse encouraged me to monitor her and maybe consider urgent care since we had to fly back to Ca. Since the fever never fully went away and after I found out that Parker wasn’t feeling well either, Nana Tuck and I took Reagan to urgent care. The Urgent Care personnel was wonderful. Reagan’s fever was 102 there and they gave her some Tylenol. It turns out she had a sore throat (but no strep as the test result was negative.) We just had to wait it out. On Wednesday we drove back and Reagan was still feeling bad. She just didn’t want to eat or drink much. By Thursday she was doing better, which was good since that’s when we flew home. On the way home, we had a layover in Dallas where we got to see the Mondlochs. I wish I had pulled out my camera as Reagan and Aeden were so cute together! He’s only a year older than her. It was nice to spend time with everyone.
We got back very late on Thursday night and spent the day relaxing. Reagan took a 3 hour nap today! We missed seeing daddy weigh-in as I was too exhausted to drive. He’ll be home tomorrow after taking some college team out. He missed getting a check but was once again the top finishing Toyota owner so he’ll get a check for that. I go back to work on Tuesday.

I keep meaning to log in and update the happenings. We had a low-key yet sweet Mother’s Day. Mike made breakfast and dinner for us and I mean us as Reagan is pretty much eating what we eat. She loves eggs, watermelon, avocado, mandarin oranges and baby food meat that comes in the jar. She has 8 teeth and 3 more just popped in! That explains her peculiar behavior lately, especially at night. She is quite the walker and talker now. She was saying Nana tonight so I recorded it on my phone. She says Mama very well, especially when she wants me.

It’s so amazing to communicate with her and understand her. Well, at least more than before, but it’s not as if we’re discussing how successful Britany Spears comeback has or has not been. She sleeps through the night for the most part and is down to one nap a day for two and half hours. It’s so nice to get things done while she’s asleep, like cleaning.
Last Saturday Mike finished 4th at the FLW Stren Oroville event!! That’s two top ten finishes this year and he’s currently 2nd in points for Angler of the year.
His next tournament is at the Delta next week and then he’s done for the summer. He’ll be focusing on the Capitol Fire and Backflow business that seems to be doing well.
On Saturday, I’m going to be adventurous and fly to Nashville with a 13-month old by myself. We’re visitng the Tennessee clan for Memorial weekend. We’re also heading to Memphis to visit Reagan’s Great-grandparents. I’m excited to see everyone, just anxious about handling an active, mobile 13 month old for a few hours in a cramped plane. I’ll be bringing plenty of snacks and a DVD player in hopes of entertaining her. Our Saturday flight is so early in the morning (6:15 am) so I hope she’ll go back to sleep for a while. I’ll let you all know how we do.

Reagan had her one-year check-up today with her pediatrician. She weighs 21 lbs 9 oz and is 29.75 inches tall. She was quite talkative and playful, until she got her shots. She got five shots and had her finger pricked to test for anemia (she’s fine.) She’ll be staying home with Dad today for comforting.

Happy Birthday baby girl!! Reagan turned 1 on Friday. What a fun year it has been with her. We’ve enjoyed watching her grow and change. We look forward to many more birthdays with her! We had all kinds of family in town to celebrate: All of the Creans came up from San Diego. Nana Sherill and Parker came from Tennessee. We all gathered at Nonna and Papa’s beautiful house and yard to celebrate and we had quite the turnout of friends who joined us along with other family members. Reagan seemed to enjoy playing with other kids although she slept through the first hour of her party. She got a lot of beautiful clothes and fun toys. She got a toy box so now Mommy can finally get her room back!
On Sunday we joined the Creans to celebrate Uncle John’s birthday (it’s today by the way.) We went to the fun candy store and had lunch. Then to St. Helena to Beringer’s Winery for a tour and taste. The Grandma and Grandpa went with John and Jess to V. Sattui while Mary went home and Daddy went back to Nonna and Papa’s (he had to work in Petaluma today.) Michael and Gaile left to get a head start on their way home. Last night we had dinner and played Clue. What a way to end the fun weekend!

I finally got around to uploading recent photos.
Enjoy!
Nana Susan arrives tomorrow to play with Reagan and help us prepare for her birthday party that is this weekend. Mom is feeling a bit nostalgic over her baby girl turning 1 already! I clearly remember this time last year. Reagan has grown so much! She is enjoying day care and the kids there as much as they enjoy her. She’s talking and interacting so much more now. We’re very happy.

Ready to find eggs!
Happy Easter everyone! We hope your holiday was as blessed as ours was. Mike’s sister/Reagan’s Aunt Renee came to visit for the Easter holiday and arrived Thursday night pretty late. She watched Reagan on Friday while Mary worked and Mike was out of town. They had a great time together and Renee was impressed with Reagan’s personality and ability to walk so well. I came home and we picked Mike up from the airport. After some running around (including back home to get the pack n’ play I forgot) we got to Windsor around 10:30pm. Their cousin Sabrina came with her husband Cory and their two sweet boys, Connor and Landon. Some of you may remember Connor as the ring bearer at our wedding 5.5 years ago.

On Saturday we did family photos and then went to V. Sattui in St. Helena for some wine tasting and gourmet picnic. We always j that place and I even got my family to love it. Sunday was the annual egg hunt at Mike and Carol’s where the older kids had to find 200 eggs plus the coveted gold and silver egg. Connor found the silver and Landon found the gold eggs respectively. Reagan got to play with her buddy that is two weeks older and they hunted for some eggs as well. She seemed to enjoy it! Overall it was a wonderful weekend with family and we look forward to the next get-together!
Reagan started at day care last week for the first four days. She seemed to have a hard time adjusting as she had issues sleeping all week there and at home. We thought she was getting a tooth as well, one of her molars but we’re not sure how much that contributed. She’ll be there this week and then we’ll decide if she’ll keep going or if she’ll be home with Dad. Mike’s business is really starting to pick up steam, so he doesn’t have as much time to spend with her. Besides she needs the social interaction. Mike is in Arizona, pre-fishing at Lake Roosevelt for the FLW Stren event that starts this Thursday.

Big News!! Reagan is offically a walker!!!! She took her first few steps Sunday March 22nd with Grandpa Mike’s help. By the following Sunday, she would run to me. She does a combination of walking and crawling and is getting better at it. We’re so excited for our little girl!
Mary and Reagan just spent the week in sunny San Diego visiting family and friends. It was quite fun! We got there Saturday afternoon and spent the afternoon and evening with Grandma and Grandpa along with Uncle John and Aunt Jess. On Sunday Grandma hosted a get-together that included all kinds of family. Reagan just loved to play with Keira who seemed to enjoy her just as much. Reagan was also enthralled with Baby Aaron and wanted to touch him and look at him constantly. Reagan was also fascinated by her second cousin, Nick and would just stare at him for as long as we’d let her!
On Monday she and I went to Grandma Pat’s office where she was just a ham for everyone. We went to lunch and then she and I went to visit Gaile, Keira and Aaron. The girls had a blast playing and laughing together. There were like sisters. That day we were able to record Reagan taking some steps and sent that via phone to her Daddy so he could see. On Tuesday we went to Grandpa Mike’s office and out to lunch with him. She wasn’t so much of a ham that day but seemed to enjoy the restaurant. She’s really eating solids well and will eat almost anything you put in front of her. On Wednesday it was Uncle John’s turn where we enjoyed lunch with him.
On Thursday we celebrated Grandpa Mike’s 60th birthday with an afternoon of family time going through old photos and eating a wonderful dinner and cake afterwards. On Friday we went to Uncle John’s and Aunt Jess’s place for yummy dinner. We also took photos of the grandkids together and it was quite cute. Reagan is a bit pushy and kept pushing Aaron out of her way.
On Saturday Grandpa, Grandma, Reagan and I went to Orange, Ca. to visit the Contis. Their son Joey is 6 days younger than Reagan! We met up at a restaurant where the kids sat side by side in separate high chairs. They seemed to like each other although Reagan kept taking Joey’s toys away from him. Later at the house Reagan kept pushing and poking poor Joey. She’s so rough! But so cute, it’s hard to get upset with her. Joey’s dad and grandparents watched the babies while Alex and I went out for some grown-up time at dinner. Reagan gave them a hard time as she was pretty inconsolable and wouldn’t go to sleep. In fact she had a hard time sleeping during the whole week and slept in the twin bed with me many nights.
We flew back yesterday morning and she was great on the plane both ways. She slept most of the way both times and would just talk to everyone. Her Daddy was so excited to see her yesterday and surprised by her new abilities. He kept saying that she’s gotten so big! I will hopefully get to posting pictures tonight.

Hi all, John here (the webmaster/site administrator).
My apologies if the site has been a little unreliable lately, I’ve been in the midst of finding a new web host the last week or so and also getting everything transferred and set up on the new host.
Well, now everything is all settled and you should now notice that this website runs quite a bit faster and smoother than it did before, all thanks to HostGator (and no thanks to 1and1). Please do not hesitate to let me know if you notice anything amiss. Otherwise, enjoy your visit!

So Mike postponed his training with Direct TV for 4-6 weeks. He went in on Monday and talked with a supervisor and they were willing to postpone. He really needed time to get a head-start on his new business and take care of some other things. All week he’s been working on establishing his business and generating customers and is very excited about all of it. His website (courtesy of John) is capitolfireandbackflow.com.
For the first time ever, we are done with our taxes early! We are getting a nice return as well that will more than off-set our debt to the IRS. We were very pleased when our CPA emailed us with the numbers.
Reagan is as cute as always. She still loves to laugh and play and smile. She’s starting to show her wants and needs and demands. It’s really quite comical. She is a full time crawler now and is getting better at standing without holding on to anything, especially when she doesn’t realize it. We can’t put her down and expect her to stay any more, she’ll crawl right after you! Here comes the security gate! She and I are heading to San Diego on the 21st to see the Creans and meet baby Aaron. We can’t wait!
